I’d say this week was really hard, but I’d be understating how hard the past few months have been altogether. On top of a very busy season of planning, onboarding new clients, and several events (that I’m incredibly grateful for), I’ve been supporting my mom through multiple difficult surgeries and new diagnoses, had an intense start to my second year of grad school, gotten my feelings crushed more than a time or two, + ups and downs with my own health (and clearly, sanity) and other regular duties.

I share all of this not for a pat on the back or pity or sympathy, but to address the responses we give when someone is struggling, no matter how quietly. I don’t believe that anyone should be required to share their personal business to receive empathy and compassion. No one owes you a sob story to be cut some slack or simply given the patience and courtesy to heal or catch up.

Now this is by no means a jab at anyone (& if you only take this post for that, you’re missing the point completely). This post is simply a reminder that weddings and events are a LUXURY - one that we LOVE & are damn good at planning & designing - but only 1 part of our lives. Please remember this as you plan your big day, set expectations, and make endless demands from your vendors, family, & friends. Everyone is going through their own thing, and your day is only one piece of yours and others’ (who are supporting you & your perfect day) lives. Be kind, show empathy & compassion, and be patient. A simple way to do that is when someone lets you know they are behind or dealing with a personal matter (& will get back to you asap), pause on your demands & requests that can wait. Be the light in someone else’s dark moment…especially if you expect the same reciprocated courtesy.

Summer fun in 3 ways💗🧡💚

A design style or theme can be realized in so many different fashions, on a variety of budgets. The key is to be intentional with your design, accentuating items that will make the most impact to the eye and the space.

Last weekend, we wanted to showcase a vibrant, summer palette for 3 different budgets or occasions. In order of the photos:

1️⃣ $$$ - all the finishings - layered place settings, custom glassware & utensils, and a full centerpiece designed with a combination of large candlelight and semi-lush floral. Perfect for weddings & formal gatherings.

2️⃣ $$ - simplified place settings that still make a ‘POP’ with an eye-capturing floral centerpiece, accented by a few candles that take up a little of the space the vase doesn’t fill. Perfect for budget-sensitive large events or smaller special occasions that need a little sass!

3️⃣ $ - basic place settings & a petite centerpiece that still draw your eye to the fluctuation of colors & texture. Perfect for banquets or budget-friendly special occasions.
